The blondes come bearing bad news
The blondes come bearing bad news
The Democratic-Liberal Party has a new communications strategy - they bring out their weaker sex colleagues to give the country news that's bad and worse. Just how medicinal alcohol is sold, with pictures of nurses on it so that you forget the sting. And this crisis is stinging worse and worse. Elena Udrea went to Târgovişte where she stated that if the Government doesn't cut salaries by 25% and pensions by 15% right now, come January 1st 2011 these won't be paid any more because there will be no more money. Back in Bucharest, Andreea Vass told us that another 125,000 state employees will have to be let go in 2011, besides the 75,000 that have to be shown the door this year. For our politically uninformed readers that are thinking of Andreea Marin, Andreea Raicu, Andreea Bălan or other divas, we'd like to mention that Andreea V. is a distinguished Economical Counselor to Prime Minister Boc, after she proved herself as Counselor to Stolojan. In this capacity, in 2009 she had the idea of offering invitations to dinner with her to anyone with solutions to combat the crisis. Since then the crisis has kept eating, fattened up, but Vass hasn't given up the principle that every good deed deserves to be repaid. As such, Boc's collaborator also stated that 35,000 pensions are being received illegally in Romania. After that she called on all these tax evading pensioners to denounce themselves and give up their pensions. In return she promised they would not go to trial and will escape prison terms. I could even see old man Gicu from the 5th floor struck by his civic conscience: "Like a rabid pre-term pensioner, I bit the budget that fed me..." The only thing is that jail's serve three meals a day, and get heating during the winter, so the temptation of being a law breaker is big. After that, Andreea V. also stated that should the Government not implement the anti-crisis measures negotiated with the international financial forums that would mean "we're just plain stupid".
In Parliament, Roberta Anăstase is making sure no one is
"stupid". The President of the Senate, who also deserves the title
of Honorary Blonde of the Democratic-Liberal Party, explained to
party members that there are no other short-term solutions and
asked them to abstain from voting on the motions of no confidence.
Why? Because the motions need votes "in favor" to pass. If they
abstain, the Democratic-Liberals are elegantly marrying party
discipline with voter demand.

This strategy, with a lot of blonde issued statements, is all that was missing for the party Traian Băsescu conducts. Even so, the Democratic-Liberal Party's officials have found themselves suddenly stricken by a bizarre malady. For a month now they've suddenly discovered that they cannot tell a lie. Boc, Berceanu, Videanu, they all just woke up in "Liar Liar", where a snazzy lawyer played by Jim Carrey finds himself unwillingly saying the truth every single time. Now it's getting better. At least, if we're going to be crying and laughing, we should do it with Carrey in a skirt.
