Orange Romania hopes to launch iPhone 4S by the end of the year

Mobile operator Orange hopes to launch Apple's new iPhone 4S in Romania by the end of this year and is currently in negotiations with the computer and software giant, Orange Romania CEO Jean-Francois Fallacher said Tuesday.

Fallacher said he hopes to give more details about the launch in November.

"I wish I could give a precise date for the launch of the iPhone 4S in Romania. We are in advanced negotiations with Apple to bring the phone to Romania. We hope to have more information available in November. It is Apple who decides the launch of the iPhone 4S in every country and we are in talks to speed up this decision. Let's hope we'll be able to launch it in Romania before the end of the year," said Fallacher.

Orange Romania is the biggest mobile operator on the domestic market, with over 10 million clients.

Sales of Apple's iPhone 4S, launched on October 4, one day before the company's co-founder Steve Jobs died, topped 4 million units worldwide over its launch weekend, the highest of any iPhone to date after that initial three-day period, Apple said Monday.
